Frequently asked questions

Does Scan Current Tab automatically spend credits on every email on a page?

No. Scanning the active tab happens locally in your browser and costs zero credits. You choose which extracted email or phone number to verify with a single click.

Can the Chrome Extension read my browsing history or tabs in the background?

No. The extension requests storage, contextMenus, sidePanel, activeTab, scripting, and host access to https://proweblook.com/* only. It contains zero persistent content scripts and cannot read any tab unless you invoke it.

Do local phone numbers without a + sign work in the extension?

Yes. Set your two-letter Default Country Code (such as US, GB, or IN) in the extension settings and Validate Phone, Check WhatsApp, and Caller ID will normalize national numbers to E.164 automatically.

Where is my API key stored in Chrome?

Your API key and up to 20 recent lookup summaries are stored locally on your device in chrome.storage.local and sent only over HTTPS in the Authorization Bearer header to proweblook.com.

Which credit pools does the Chrome Extension use?
